Stud Poker
Stud poker is a class of poker games in which some of the cards are dealt face down and others are dealt face up. Popular versions of stud poker are five-card stud and seven-card stud. The basic rules of five-card stud are given below. Each player is first dealt a card face down and then a card face up. The first round of betting proceeds on the basis of these cards. Then a third, fourth and fifth cards are dealt face up with a round of betting in between each card dealt. After the fifth card is dealt the betting results in a show down to decide the winner.
Draw Poker
Draw poker is a class of poker games in which all five cards are dealt before the betting begins. Subsequently some cards can be replaced according to rules that are different for each variant. The five-card draw is the most popular form of draw poker. After the players are dealt a five-card hand the first round of betting takes place. After this each player discards the cards he wants replaced and is dealt the number of cards he has discarded, so that he has a five-card hand again. Another round of betting takes place. If there are two more players left in the fray a showdown takes place to decide the winner.

Community Card Poker
This class of poker games is the latest entrant and the most popular. In these games there is a set of community cards that are dealt face up on the table in addition to the cards dealt to the players and the players have to use some of these community cards to make up their five-card hand. The most popular of the Community Card poker games is Texas Hold ‘em. In Texas Hold ‘em each player is dealt two cards face down. A pre-flop betting round then takes place. Then three community cards are dealt face up and another round of betting follows. A fourth community card is dealt and is followed by another round of betting. Then the final community card is dealt. The players remaining in the game make their five-card hand using their two cards and any three of the community cards. A final round of betting and showdown follows to decide the winner. In Omaha Hold ‘em the players are dealt four cards and make their final hand using any two of their cards and any three of the community cards.
